Henley Royal Regatta
Your Regatta Guide
Getting Around
Henley town centre becomes very busy during Regatta week. We recommend walking where possible — most enclosures and viewing areas are within easy reach on foot from the property. If you need a car, allow extra time and consider arriving before 10am or after 7pm to avoid peak congestion.
Race Timings
Racing typically begins at 8:30am and continues until early evening. Finals day (Sunday) starts later and draws the largest crowds. The stewards’ schedule is published each morning — we can have a copy left at the property each day if you’d like.
Where to Watch
The Stewards’ Enclosure offers the most traditional experience and requires appropriate dress. The Regatta Enclosure is slightly more relaxed and has excellent views of the finish line. For a quieter vantage point, the towpath opposite the course is free and often underused — a lovely spot in the morning.
What to Know
Smart dress is expected across most enclosures — jacket and tie for gentlemen, dresses or skirts below the knee for ladies in the Stewards’ Enclosure. Picnics are permitted in some areas. Umbrellas are worth packing regardless of the forecast. If you need anything arranged — transfers, hampers, bookings — we are here throughout.
